Key accountabilities in order of priority and with ideal time allocations are:
- Oversees, performs and manages infrastructure maintenance to anticipate and prevent security breaches, system failures and downtime. (30%)
- Troubleshoots systems and applications to resolve complex network issues and business critical infrastructure failures to resolve issues. (10-15%)
- Performs project implementations so that the overall system and applications run secure, reliable and accurate. (15%)
- Implements corporate infrastructure components, security, data integrity, and reliability to support the uptime and performance of business systems aligned with corporate objectives. (15%)
Note: Twenty percent of time is reserved for ancillary responsibilities, interruptions, and unplanned activities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Ensures that infrastructure systems and facilities (computer systems, operating systems, and/or the network environment) are sufficient, appropriate, and functioning.
- Reviews, analyzes, and modifies infrastructure systems including configuration, testing, debugging, monitoring, fault resolution, and product installation.
- Monitors, logs, tracks, and resolves hardware and software deficiencies, and notes weaknesses or tendencies toward failure.
- Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
- Provides ongoing maintenance, support, and problem resolution for all infrastructure services.
- Reviews service ticket requests and assesses that requested services fall within guidelines; ensures hardware and software compatibility.
- Advises of potential problem areas which may influence project schedules.
- Manages the administration of all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, incident response and mitigation, access controls, endpoint protection, content filters, anti-malware systems, multi-factor authentication.
- Researches, conducts fact-finding, design, code, test, and maintain scripts associated with moderately complex efforts/projects.
- Performs system backups and recovery and addresses security related items as necessary.
- Maintains established services levels for all infrastructure services.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
