The Jurgensen Companies is seeking an experienced Construction Contract Accounting Administration Specialist Level 1.

 

You will be working within the Construction Contract Administration team, which is responsible for construction accounting and managing the document flow for construction contract administration. This group also provides guidance to our affiliate construction companies.


You will be working at our new state of the art corporate office located in Sharonville, Ohio (Cincinnati). Responsibilities

Construction Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Heavy emphasis on time and material (force account / insurance claims) cost analysis, which includes research, assembly and review.
  • Track change orders and ensure timely processing with proper approvals.
  • Mail and track weekly certified payroll reports.
  • Match accounts payable receivers to invoices and add approver routing data entry (change orders, journal entries).
  • Track subcontracts and oversee full execution, including verifying that required compliance paperwork has been returned.
  • Provide general support to Contract Administration team.
  • Interact with project managers/estimators and other internal departments, as well as subcontractors and customers to provide administrative support and ensure accuracy of paperwork.
  • Run ad-hoc reports on as needed basis.
  • Other duties relative to construction contract administration and accounting.

Qualifications

Construction Accounting Specialist Qualifications:

  • Department of Transportation (DOT) contract and cost accounting is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker who is detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess problem solving skills.
  • Experience with HCSS (Heavybid / Heavyjob), Blue Book Online and JD Edwards/ One World software is a plus.
  • Cost accounting and / or construction experience is preferred.
  • Accounting or other business degree is a plus, but not required.
